Doreen Vanchoff, Comptroller

Although Doreen’s background is in Account Management, Traffic and Production, she’s had a lot of practice over the years with Research and Collections. One of her favorites is her collection of antique kitchen utensils, including her prized rolling pin.

She uses these devices to create memorable delicacies like Screamin’ Hot Peppers and Wild Mushroom Soup. Doreen has managed her own small business and knows which ingredients to combine to keep her soufflés from falling and her project costs from climbing. As Comptroller she also cooks up more efficient ways to process information and make the Agency increasingly profitable without sacrificing project quality or service to clients.

Doreen keeps things cooking as the liaison with banks and financial institutions, meets regularly with the Agency’s accounting firm for tax planning and tax compilation purposes, and pins down all quarterly Agency budgets and gross Agency income projections. While she is polite and charming, she is also determined and tenacious when managing the Agency’s Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

She maintains Agency personnel files and client data records and has immediate access to all Agency records. She also assists in Agency research projects when they involve crunching numbers and participates in Agency and client brainstorming sessions.

She applies the chemistry of cooking to the chemistry of working with people to set goals and accomplish objectives. Doreen is resourceful and innovative in all of her roles at the Agency, and claims that her skill of communicating with clients and suppliers has been honed since setting up and teaching Tot Times, a preschool program in which toddlers and their parents engage in activities together.

In quieter times, after dodging the hazards of finger paint, paste and wild, if blunt, scissors, she enjoys photography and playing the guitar. Doreen never takes a cookie cutter approach to any position or project she undertakes, which is an attitude that helps to keep the Agency rolling.
